However, it is not a state of the art modern DVD drive and this DVD drive will not operate off of a USB hub but it either has to directly plug into a computer or could operate using a type A USB extension cable. Modern USB DVD drives can use a USB Hub. The most recent Mac computers only have type C USB sockets and would need an adapter to use this older DVD drive. I wish Apple could come out with a newer DVD drive in its product line that could play Blu ray disks.

My original Super Drive (at least 5 + years old) started acting up and figured it was time to replace. Since Apple stopped selling them I looked on Ebay. For the price this vendor was selling them I bought two! They both work fine and appeared to be in excellent condition (no scratches, dents or visible damage). I ran a couple of movies thru each and they worked just fine. I bought two to have a spare for the future just in case.

It looks brand new and unused, worked perfectly right out of the box when hooked into Mac Mini. This is an exceptional value for the drive since similar "refurbished" drives sell for $50 or more on other sites. So far I am very happy with this purchase and the seller.
