Moody, austere, and unabashedly clever, THE SPANISH PRISONER is familiar ground for puzzle-loving writer-director David Mamet. Campbell Scott plays the Hitchcockian hero Joe Ross, an unassuming fall guy who has invented a mysterious process worth an unnamed, but presumably enormous, figure. Joe's share in the reward is uncertain, however, and his growing nervousness is subtly stoked by Jimmy Dell (Steve Martin), a charming and apparently wealthy new friend. Suddenly Joe finds himself wondering who he can trust: his boss, his friends, Jimmy, the FBI, or even the girl at work who has a crush on him (Rebecca Pidgeon, speaking her husband's lines as only she can). The big con is always fun to watch from the inside, but Mamet knows it's even more fun when the audience is on the outside, left to imagine the con as all-encompassing so that everyone and everything is suspect. The fine ensemble acting and terse, loaded dialogue add to the atmosphere of total suspense while the muted but rich production design produces a too-believable longing in Joe, whose tiniest greedy qualm is still enough to spell disaster.

    Item was in pristine new condition as promised. Since shipping was international, it took 3 weeks from placing the order to arrive, but the seller was great at communicating this with me and providing a tracking number so I could see where my package was at. The game I received was not the complete collection with both expansion packs as described, but again the seller was very easy to work with to correct the mistake and make things right.

    The package arrived broken (see image), and the game was in fact not new OR unused. However, great communication by the seller and I recieved a refund without having to send the package back. He explained that "these" (Sims 3 expansions, I presume) were a bit of a hit or miss and he apologised. I would still recommend, but to be aware that these mistakes do happen.

    Excellent. I ordered this item which was swiftly dispatched. However, I didn't receive it because Royal Mail managed to lose it in the postal system. i contacted the seller and they offered me the option of a replacement, which I accepted. I selected two games as replacement which were again swiftly dispatched via a tracked service. Unbelievably Royal Mail managed to lose those games as well !! The seller then offered a refund. Definitely not a seller issue, it's a Royal Mail issue. A+
