The packaging was excellent, it was wrapped 3x and there was no damage. It arrived 2 days after purchase, earlier than promised. No smell at all. Cleaning solution sprayed on, then wiped off with a white towel turned up no trace of dirt. (This done at a professional carpet washing/repair/storage company.)
