Synopsis
The cultivation, harvesting and sale of sea island cotton was one of the most important economic forces in the southeastern United States from 1790 to just before the Civil War and, to a lesser extent, in the early twentieth century. This impressively researched book traces the journey of the Gossypium barbadense seed from the Andes to the Caribbean and thence to suitable growing conditions found on the barrier islands from North Carolina to Florida. The story of sea island cotton encompasses the planting, cultivation, harvesting, ginning and market preparation of this highly profitable plant, along with the reasons for its demise as an important agricultural and economic force in the region., The cultivation, harvesting and sale of sea island cotton was one of the most important economic forces in the southeastern United States from 1790 to just before the Civil War and, to a lesser extent, in the early twentieth century. This impressively researched book traces the journey of the Gossypium barbadense seed from the Andes to the Cari, The cultivation, harvesting and sale of sea island cotton was one of the most important economic forces in the southeastern United States from 1790 to just before the Civil War and, to a lesser extent, in the early twentieth century. - y***y (280)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Último añoCompra verificadaI recently purchased "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" on eBay, and I'm absolutely thrilled with the experience! The seller was exceptionally responsive and took great care in packaging the book securely. It arrived even sooner than expected and in pristine condition—exactly as described in the listing. Douglas Adams' masterpiece is a witty and whimsical journey through the cosmos, and I'm delighted to have this fantastic edition in my collection. The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy (#267107931920)
- n***t (147)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Últimos 6 mesesCompra verificadaReally happy I was able to find a copy of this book in great quality and at lower price no less! I will say though that the shipping could've been more consistent, not only taking longer than expected but no communication for like a month from USPS or tracking. For a second there I thought this got lost in the mail! But thankfully the packaging and shipment arrived just in time! Thank you so much for helping me complete my collection!World Of Kong - Natural History Of Skull Island (#267129044909)
