A riend said if you file the bit of antenna that goes into where the set screw meets it , file that part flat, it will hold better on windy days...

I like the quad band, though, in case I run across repeaters on the two less common bands that the KT-7900D has available. Anyway, I installed it on my mirror and I get about 50 miles range, with it, depending on terrain.

Shipping was also much quicker than expected. Ebay portal predicted a month but it took just under 2 weeks! It does take a little getting used to with the settings and menu, but it works great and is a ton of fun.
