The package was open and the pen was used and had an empty (dried up) ink cartridge installed. The nib was crusty and discolored from years of having dried ink inside. After a thorough bath in the ultrasonic cleaner, the pen was like new! Zero communication from this seller. Writes beautifully! Thank you
