Not many artists have the chance to start a "craze," but this jazz tenor man did just that with these five bossa-nova LPs from the first half of the '60s. These were that rare combination of best sellers and artistic triumphs: Jazz Samba with Charlie Byrd, Big Band Bossa Nova, Jazz Samba Encore!, Getz/Gilberto and Stan Getz with Guest Artist Laurindo Almeida. Jazz stars from both America's sparkle as you hear one of the defining hits of the '60s, the Girl from Ipanema, plus Desafinado; Corcovado; Samba Triste; Balanco No Samba; Once Again (Outra Vez), and more much of it remastered for the first time in 20 years!
