The Garmin eTrex Venture HC Handheld GPS receiver is enhanced with Wide Area Augmentation System. All of this is possible without needing to search a physical map.The Garmin eTrex Venture receiver also boasts 24MB of internal memory. Included with the GPS are built-in base maps of North and South America, Europe and the Pacific. Each Americas Recreational map includes important landmarks, such as lakes, interstates, highways, cities, and coastlines. Users can also add details to these maps by using the Mapsource Trip and Waypoint Manager. This software, which is included with Garmin eTrex units, allows users to transfer routes, waypoints, and tracks between your computer and the Garmin device. The Waypoint Manager software can provide more detailed maps that include important motorways and cities, topography, and other details that will make your Garmin GPS map even more useful.At just over 1 inch thick, 2 inches wide, and 4 inches long, the Garmin eTrex Venture GPS is compact. Despite the small size of this GPS unit, the Garmin eTrex Venture has a bright, 256-color, 176-by-220 pixel display. This screen, which is 2.14 inches, shows any given map clearly. The displayed map and directional arrow remain readable even in bright sunlight. This compact device can dedicate plenty of space to the screen as the buttons controlling it are located on either side. This makes Garmin eTrex GPS units simple to operate with one hand. Each of the five buttons is easily distinguishable for convenience.The eTrex Venture is powered by two standard AA batteries that can keep it going for up to 14 hours, giving users plenty of time to reach their destinations.     Shipping was delayed by shipper, not seller. Maybe choose a different drop point next time? Item as described and communication was good - inquiries replied to in a timely manner although seller is kind of rude in their replies. Usually when an item is dropped off on "Friday I think" tracking is updated Friday. It took 4 days for tracking to update that the package had been received. I'm glad I finally got my item and it was as described.
