In Killzone 2 for Sony Playstation 3, you take on the role of Sev, a special forces soldier with the ISA who back you up against the assault from the vicious Helghast army. As Sev, you lead a special combat team known as Legion, and their missions come to life through stunning visuals and innovative game technology powered by EDGE tools. From slick animation, impressive character transitions and highly detailed environments that come to life with thrilling effects, Killzone 2 can be the sort of PS3 game that feels so real and intense, you can’t help but become consumed by the action when you play. The special effects are studio grade, improving the quality of every second of the game with full screen anti-aliasing, motion blur, internal lens reflection, and depth-based color grading that adds a visible level of sharpness to the visuals. As the ISA Legion tries to defeat the evil Helghan, you have to endure the harsh conditions of their planet, an environment that only becomes more brutal throughout the hardships of war. The Helghast army knows how to use the climate to their advantage and ensuring that you suffer the greatest toll possible as a result will be part of their strategy. You get to fight back with an arsenal of weapons and vehicles new to this video game as well as classic accessories like the M82-G and StA-52 LA. As a first-person shooter game, you are truly in the action, viewing the carnage from Sev’s point of view and leading his efforts against the enemy. Killzone 2 for PS3 is designed as a peak cover system where you will be required to find cover behind various objects to protect you from Helghast fire and wait for your perfect moment to come out and strike back. The perspective of the game switches to third-person when you are using pilot vehicles such as a tank or robotic exoskeleton. Like the groundbreaking game before it, Killzone 2 pushes the boundaries of the genre with unbelievable realism and incredibly intensity. All of the gut wrenching factors of war can become even more all encompassing thanks to the game’s 7.1 surround sound. Thanks to state of the art wave tracing audio technology, the sound will be location specific, adding another component of authenticity to the video game.
