PARAMHANSA YOGANANDA - A RARE FILM COLLECTION contains rare footage that provides a unique insight into one of the greatest spiritual leaders of the 20th Century. An emissary of Eastern teachings and yogic philosophies, Paramhansa Yogananda was in large part responsible for the diffusion of yoga throughout the world through his travels, lectures, and his book, AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF A YOGI. This exceptional footage consists of three films that are snapshots of the masters gentle energy and wise charisma. The first film was shot during a 1936 visit to England; Yogananda holds forth on proper sleeping habits and can be seen to go into superconsciousness when he is finished speaking. The second is a 10-minute clip of Yogananda performing a wedding ceremony in 1936, surrounded by many of his best-known students and issuing an inspiring talk. The third is a silent, one-minute clip of the teacher walking with several supporters in the 1920s, filmed during a visit to New York City. Also included is a slideshow that chronicles the Yogi's life, narrated by Yogananda's disciple, Swami Kriyananda.
