Synopsis
Ry nosuke Akutagawa (1892-1927) is one of Japan's foremost stylists - a modernist master whose short stories are marked by highly original imagery, cynicism, beauty and wild humour. 'Rash mon' and 'In a Bamboo Grove' inspired Kurosawa's magnificent film and depict a past in which morality is turned upside down, while tales such as 'The Nose', 'O-Gin' and 'Loyalty' paint a rich and imaginative picture of a medieval Japan peopled by Shoguns and priests, vagrants and peasants. And in later works such as 'Death Register', 'The Life of a Stupid Man' and 'Spinning Gears', Akutagawa drew from his own life to devastating effect, revealing his intense melancholy and terror of madness in exquisitely moving impressionistic stories., This collection features a brilliant new translation of the Japanese masters stories, from the source for the movie "Rashomon" to his later, more autobiographical writings., A stunning deluxe edition of one of Penguin Classics' most popular translations Ry nosuke Akutagawa is one of Japan's foremost stylists--a modernist master whose short stories are marked by highly original imagery, cynicism, beauty and wild humour. I was pleasantly surprised by the perfection of this packaging. Wish I had taken pictures. The game itself was placed within a sealed bag, accompanied by a lovely "Thank you" card, and the entire outside of the bag was taped securely with cardboard to ensure nothing could damage/crush the game. Then around that was a shipping bag. The game is exactly as described and pictured, the price was extremely reasonable, and the shipping was fast. Buy with confidence, this is a great seller.

I am so happy with this transaction!! The seller listed this book as "damaged" and I got it at a great price. Yes, the book is damaged, but it is actually in much better shape than the picture makes it appear. It arrived on time, packed well, and with a very nice note from the seller to notify them if there was any issue or question. This is the way to be a top seller on eBay!! Way to go, Mechadroid. It was so nice to get my book and be surprised in such a pleasant way - thank you!!!
