Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire for Nintendo 64 allows players to take on the role of Dash Rendar, a leader of the rebel force against the Empire. Shadows of the Empire for N64 has nine different environments and 10 levels that players must fight their way through. Players will have to dodge asteroids, blast opponents with lasers, and navigate through rough terrain to make it through each level. Once a level is completed, players are given the option to go back to replay the level and earn more challenge points. These points are used to advance the Rebel cause in the story mode of Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire for Nintendo 64. This Star Wars game allows players to select from four different camera angles, including a first-person point of view. The sound effects, graphics, and story of Shadows of the Empire for N64 are all in line with the movies. This allows players to feel not only like they are part of the Star Wars game, but the entire Star Wars universe. The substantial action in this game also means there is a considerable amount of animated violence. For this reason, Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire for Nintendo 64 has an ELSPA 11+ rating.
