It was easy to put together, although when it arrived it was missing a bolt and lock nut for an upright piece. I was able to find one around the house to complete it. It is well padded to protect my guitars. I don't travel to play so the holder will just be sitting permanently in a corner. The only thing I would like to see improved is some kind of lock or stop mechanism to keep the top bar from folding down if you remove all the guitars.
