Synopsis
Throughout eight years of existence, La Panaderia served Mexico City as a vibrant non-profit space for exhibitions, residencies, and cultural events involving local and international artists. This retrospective catalogue exists as a collective testimony on the artistic productions and exhibitions that resulted from the space, which was founded in 1994 in a former bakery by local artists Yoshua Okon and Miguel Calderon. Here young artists were invited to exhibit video, photography, installation, and performance based works, but the space was also characterized by parties and concerts, reflecting a lifestyle and a social dynamic that opposed a rigid set of paradigms which dictated how art should be. "La Panaderia: 1994-2002 presents a selection of 60 exhibitions by foreign and Mexican contemporary artists via photographic documentation, brief descriptive texts, and ephemera such as invitations. Critical texts consider the relevance of the space, while anecdotes from artists and visitors pay testimony to it. Artists represented here include Carlos Amorales, Chris Johanson, Emily Jacir, Francis Alyuml; s, Gelatin, Kirsten Stoltmann, Las ultrasonicas, Minerva Cuevas, Semefo, Shepard Fairy, and Uri Tzaig. The book is accompanied by a CD with music by Silverio., Throughout eight years of existence, La Panader a served Mexico City as a vibrant non-profit space for exhibitions, residencies, and cultural events involving local and international artists. Great seller! Had a question about two items I wanted to purchase. Sent an email to seller at 8:35 pm, they answered me an hour later the same evening! Prompt shipping, secure packaging, very reasonable and polite to deal with. Items were in even better condition than described on seller listing. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy from this seller again. Most highly recommended!!

Outstanding quality, even better condition than described, shipping was OUTSTANDING with a heavy cardboard box to prevent against in-transit damage. I truly wish more sellers packaged books the way Mr Bears Bookstore does, because flimsy plastic mailers used by others almost guarantee damage. This seller did an absolutely exemplary job and I appreciate their care. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars, but I can recommend this seller wholeheartedly. THANK YOU!

These books arrived quickly, and just as described. They are actually in decent condition for their age. The seller packed them tightly to protect them, which I was thankful for. This is about what I expected to pay, so I felt like the value was good. Oh, and all, the experience with the seller was very positive.
