Prior to 1920, children could be sent through the U.S. post because it was cheaper than buying a train ticket. Thank the Lord that this was not a child because it lingered in the Knoxville Tennessee USPS Regional Facility for 5 days, then it traveled 15 miles to another facility for 3 more days and I just received my package today that I ordered on Jan 1.
