In spite of this, upon unpacking, the top part had become detached from the bottom part. However there is evidence of an old previous repair which was quite well hidden. I have successfully repaired it again so all is well. I appreciate there is always a danger that delicate objects can be damaged in transit no matter how much care is taken.
