Synopsis
This is the first book of its kind that focuses solely on this subject and answers many of the questions that both novice and experienced collectors have had with regard to yosegaki hinomaru and senninbari. Through an extensive use of color photographs, the book provides illustrations of common artifacts as well as some of the rarest. Many of the examples provided have been identified to their soldier-owners and come with fascinating and often poignant stories. Vintage photographs, postcards, advertisements and first hand accounts, bring both subjects into full detail.
