The Pentax lens not only delivers, it has the quality of other lenses that reach upward toward the 84 mm range. This Pentax lens has great zoom and focus capabilities. Part of the success of the Pentax SMC DA is that although it is a “kit lens,” which is usually designed as cheaply as possible, Pentax decided to go with more quality than expected and has created a kit lens with the serious photographer in mind. This means that the Pentax lens has both manual and automatic options, not to mention a frontal element that is non-rotating. This allows the use of filters and is much more attractive to the more serious photographer than the usual elements of the average kit lens.
