Since the gouge out is small and on the top of the shoe, it won't affect the comfort. Overall, the shoes seem to be good quality & are as those pictured/described in the listing. I feel that the price was good, so I do recommend this seller.

Contacted, the seller told us that we could open the box and return the item if we were not satisfied with it. Items were brand new and are working great so far.
