This board offers support for the Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 operating systems. This board also comes packed with features to help you out in an emergency. Features like Xpress Recovery2 will allow you to both save and restore your hard drive data. The Dual BIOS technology will allow this Gigabyte board to store and backup BIOS at all times. The built-in BIOS feature allows you to update your BIOS quickly and easily. The EasyTune configuration utility will allow you to tweak and overclock any hardware device connected to the board. The Dynamic Energy Saver Advanced takes advantage of power-saving technology that will keep your electric bill down. Lastly, this board lets you restore Windows system data using the Time Repair feature. All of these features are packed into a small ATX form factor frame. This small size ensures that this board is compatible with nearly any computer case.This motherboard supports a broad array of Intel Core CPU types. This board is compatible with Intel CPUs, including the Core 2 Extreme and the Core 2 Duo processor lines. The CPU socket is outfitted with a heat dampening material to ensure that your processor stays cool. In the event that your temperatures rise too far, this Gigabyte motherboard will automatically shut down. This feature prevents your motherboard from malfunctioning due to heat damage. The GA-EP45T-UD3LR Rev 1.3 motherboard uses an Intel P45 Express Chipset. This chipset ensures that this Gigabyte motherboard takes full advantage of the hardware plugged into it. The GA-EP45T-UD3LR has support for up to 16GB of memory. It supports a dual-channel memory architecture, requiring users to plug in at least two sticks of RAM. You can plug four sticks of DDR3 memory into this board at one time. The board supports up to 2200 MHz of memory in total. The GA-EP45T-UD3LR board contains seven slots for accessories such as a sound card or a graphics card. The PCI Express x16 slot allows you to unlock the full power of whatever is inserted into it. This socket is a perfect fit for a gamer who wants to get the most out of their graphics card. Like other Gigabyte motherboards, this board has four PCI Express x1 slots. These connections are ideal for items such as a sound card or wireless adapter. Lastly, there are two standard PCI connections for older items.You don't need a sound card to experience fantastic sound when using this board. The onboard Realtek ALC888 codec allows you to hear audio without any distortion or feedback. This codec even supports up to 7.1 channels of audio at one time. The six SATA connectors on this board allow you to configure multiple hard drives into a RAID configuration. The board sports a total of 8 USB ports.
