The microphone on top of the camera allows you to capture audio recordings with stereo sound while you are filming a video. You can also capture still shots while recording a video with a press of the shutter button. The 3-inch wide, 921,000-dot, high-resolution LCD monitor clearly displays pictures, videos, and menu options. It comes with an anti-glare coating for maximum visibility. You can edit your movies directly on the COOLPIX S8100. With an HDMI output, you can watch your movies on a computer or on HDTV.The Nikon COOLPIX S8100 cameras have a built-in 10x wide-angle, optical zoom, NIKKOR ED glass lens. You can also use a telephoto lens. The normal focus range for these lenses is 1 foot 8 inches to infinity. Its macro focus range is 0.4 inch to infinity. This allows you to zoom in for a close-up photo or take wide landscape pictures. It has a fixed ISO sensitivity from 160 to 400, but it can be set as high as 3200. This makes it good for low light shooting. Its shutter speed of 1/4000 to 1/120 seconds makes shooting fast-moving subjects easy.This Nikon also has an auto and manual white balance option, so you can get the most accurate colors in your photographs.
