Middle-school student Hajime Murata is living a humdrum life in the year 2070 when two simultaneous events shake up his comfortable existence: a spaceship suddenly appears over Tokyo, and a strangely anachronistic student named Muryou Subaru is transferred to his school. When Muryou immediately clashes with student council vice president Kyoichi Moriguchi, the rivalry sparks a series of supernatural events that lead Hajime on an existential quest to find out the truth about his fellow students. SHINGU chronicles Hajime's investigations into the unknown with this collection of the anime series' first five episodes.
