Whispering Smith is a made for television series which was released as a three-disc set for western enthusiasts in the year 2010. This western, set in Denver, Colorado in the 1820s, began filming in the year 1959 at NBC Studios and was aired on television beginning in 1961. Whispering Smith stars Audie Murphy, the former World War II combat hero turned actor, as the main character of Tom "Whispering" Smith who is a police detective assigned to investigate railroad fraud. Each episode of Whispering Smith featured gun slinging, old-fashioned investigative work, and no good perpetrators who were always caught and served with justice. Some episodes were even based on actual cases of the Denver Police Department at the time. This three-disc set contains 20 aired episodes of 30 minutes each in addition to five never before seen bonus episodes as well as the short film entitled Medal of Honor: the Audie Murphy Story which tells the true story of Audie Murphy's war heroics. Whispering Smith is ideal for those who are ages five and up.
