If you really want to get serious about photography, then smartphone cameras just won’t hack it. The Nikon Coolpix 4500 is a digital camera that can be easy to use while at the same time packed with features. This stylish, compact camera has a 4X optical zoom plus a 4X digital zoom. This gives you the ability to move in close to your subject with minimal optical distortion. This Coolpix boasts a functional focal range of 38 - 155 millimeters. Its sensor is capable of capturing images with a resolution of up to four megapixels. It’s fitted with a rotating lens that swivels 180 degrees in one direction and 90 degrees in the other. The Nikon Coolpix 4500 measures 5.1 inches by 2 inches by 2.9 inches and weighs 13.1 ounces. Its compact size makes it very portable. Its body is mostly manufactured from metal, so it’s a rugged, durable camera that will stand up to heavy use. You can hold it and use it with a single hand if that’s your preferred method of taking pictures. The lens mount supports attachments threaded for 28 millimeters. The pop up flash is located right above the camera lens. You can easily attach an external lens to this Coolpix if you need additional illumination. Flash settings include auto, auto with red eye removal, forced, and slow sync.The Coolpix 4500 takes one standard EN-EL1 battery, and the battery compartment is located at the bottom of these cameras. You’ll also find a tripod mount on this Nikon camera’s base. It uses a CompactFlash memory card to store the photographs you’ve taken. The Nikon 4500 takes photographs and videos, and it has a built in microphone.This Nikon Coolpix digital camera has a liquid crystal display viewfinder that measures 1.5 inches to display your subject with clarity and detail. Right above the LCD screen, there’s an on/off button that allows you to conserve energy. The focus mode and photo delete buttons are right below the LCD screen. The 4500’s automatic settings include infinite focus, macro focus, and a self timer. You also have the option of focusing your Coolpix manually. A four way switch that’s also beneath the LCD viewfinder allows you to access menu navigation and the AE/AF locking function. With the flash button depressed, you’ll also be able to choose among ISO modes. ISO modes include Auto, 100, 200, 400, and 800.On the side of this Coolpix camera, you can find its power switch and its shutter release button. You can also find a button that controls additional mode settings. With Fully Automatic, your Nikon Coolpix 4500 can do all the heavy lifting involved with image processing. With Program, your 4500 calculates your best exposure settings. With Shutter Priority, you can choose your own shutter speed while your Nikon 4500 selects the appropriate aperture. You can also choose the Manual Mode, in which you have control over shutter speed and aperture. The camera also includes a number of preset modes like Portrait, Indoor, Landscape, and Close-up. These modes use preset white balance and metering settings.
