When notified of this, the seller responded promptly, asking whether a refund or to try another one was preferred. I chose the latter and a return label was promptly emailed. Upon the return the seller immediately sent out a replacement keyboard, and that one had no problems and is functioning properly. A solid and reliable seller and I would not hesitate to purchase again.
