A young, talented cast provide a combination of jousting action, romance and comedy, set in 1360 with plenty of colour and high quality CGI effects. The class elitism of knights is deftly side-stepped by having Ledger be an imposter, and there is a deal social comment. Bettany is also superb as Ledger's eloquent herald, in what is a star-making performance. The generally UK supporting cast are also good. Highly entertaining and funny.
