Canine Heaven is based on Gary Woodson's real-life experiences with two of his family's nine dogs. It is told from the dogs' perspective and is engaging and sweet and resonates with young readers. In Canine Heaven, two dogs - Quito and Ben - search for a new home after having been abandoned, again. Through a series of trials and disappointments, Quito meets a man in a cowboy hat whom he hopes will offer him and Ben a permanent home. Or, would an unexpected guest change this cowboy's mind the following morning?
