Synopsis
The peculiar, often tempestuous, and always entertaining baseball relationship between manager Billy Martin and owner George Steinbrenner., The peculiar, often tempestuous, and always entertaining baseball relationship between manager Billy Martin and owner George Steinbrenner., When Yankees owner George Steinbrenner first hired former player Billy Martin to manage his famous American League franchise, they won two pennants and the 1977 World Series. But it was the fiery, on-again off-again partnership between these two stubborn and driven men that entertained America for two decades practically as much as their championship seasons. The Ballad of Billy and George is a wonderful, blow-by-blow history of their combustible chemistry, drawn from interviews with Billy Martin Jr., Mickey Mantle, Reggie Jackson, Ron Guidry, Sparky Lyle, Goose Gossage, Bucky Dent, Clete Boyer, Graig Nettles, Lou Piniella, Clyde King, and Gene Michael. Black and white photos enhance the drama, presented by a veteran sportswriter who covered the Yankees every day during these rollicking times. With the recent passing of George Steinbrenner, this book is an honest remembrance of one of baseball's most historic and tumultuous relationships between owner and manager. Book jacket.

I purchased a listing without a photo but the title eluded that the CD was a different title than I anticipated. They told me if it wasn’t what they thought because they couldn’t take a photo of it they’d issue a refund and they did. I owned the CD they sent already. I appreciated their honesty and I do want to give them more business so I’m going to buy some more CDs with photos this time! Quick response quick shipping packaged safe and great value. - s***s (256)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Últimos 6 mesesCompra verificadaExcellent transaction. Great comms, excellent pricing; item's condition was better than advertised (used CDs). Was given a savings on shipping cost for multiple purchaes shipped together. CDs were well packaged (very important for a fragile jewel case), and shipped in timely manner. Seller made this sale a positive experience. 5 Stars all the way!
- p***r (217)- Votos emitidos por el comprador.Mes pasadoCompra verificadaI ordered the Jefferson Airplane cd 2400 Fulton Street from estocks-USA. It’s a double cd set. It arrived very quickly and was packaged superbly. However upon opening the package I found that only one of the two cds had been shipped. I reached out to the seller to make them aware of the problem. They quickly responded and took responsibility for the mistake. Moreover they immediately refunded my money no other questions asked. These days it’s rare to find a seller that puts the customer first!!!
