The Seagate Constellation internal hard drive’s TCG-compliant Self-Encrypting Drive (SED) security option eliminates the need for you to overwrite or physically destroy drives. This feature also enables the safe return of drives for warranty or expired lease purposes and allows organizations to repurpose or sell hard drives securely. The hard drive meets regulatory data security compliance requirements and is FIPS 140-2 validated to protect data classed as sensitive, but unclassified and protected. The Seagate Constellation ES 500GB internal hard drive (ST500NM0011) 6gb/s works hard, but it is also green. The hard drive boasts low power consumption and delivers superior power efficiency by packing high capacities into an SFF, lower power-consumption type drive.
