Most likely not sellers fault as this is a cheap chinese knockoff thats extremely difficult to detect. This has the NE555 chip not the TL555 chip (the difference is the minimum voltage required which is above 4v). These soil moisture sensors are 85% knock off at best. The knockoffs have several issues but for $6 you can't really complain.

I tried to contact Ebay, won't even let me talk to them. Seller is innocent, as I was. Ebay did charge me eventually the correct price, but NEVER sent me a corrected email. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this seller, honest, true and excellent communication, above and beyond. Because of what Ebay did, not the seller's fault, I cancelled the order and the seller refunded me the price I was supposed to pay. Great help.
