It is a beautiful dark blue with sparkles and turned out to be much more attractive than I expected. It writes quite smooth for such a fine nib. The included ink cartridge is a bit dry and I would never buy it. I got a cartridge and some bottled ink and that was MUCH better. Parker Quink and Pilot Iroshizuku ink work wonderful. Monteverde lubricated ink wrote very well, but had significant and annoying nib creep (ink getting all over top of nib).
