Die Toshiba HDD2189, 60 GB, Intern, 4200 RPM, 6,35 cm (2,5 Zoll) (mk6025gas) Festplatte misst 9,5x69,85x100 mm (2,5 Zoll) bei einem Gewicht von 98 g. Die Speicherkapazität der Toshiba HDD2189 liegt bei 60 GB und eignet sich daher insbesondere als ergänzendes Speichermedium für stationäre oder auch einige portable PC-Lösungen. Die interne Festplatte erreicht mit ihrer Umdrehungsgeschwindigkeit von 4200 RPM und dem Puffer von rund 8 MB interne Übertragungsraten zwischen 201,6 und bis zu 307,5 MBit/s. Die Suchzeit der Toshiba HDD liegt im Durchschnitt bei 12 ms, maximal bei 22 ms. Die mechanische HDD2189-Festplatte von Toshiba besteht aus 2 Datenscheiben und ist mit 4 Lese-/Schreibköpfen ausgestattet. Am Computer wird die interne Festplatte über eine Schnittstelle des Typs Ultra ATA/100 (ATA-5) angeschlossen. Aufgrund ihrer Größe ist auch ein Einbau in viele gängige Notebooks möglich. Die Toshiba HDD kann ebenfalls in entsprechend mit Ultra-ATA/100-Schnittstellen ausgestattete externe 2,5-Zoll-Gehäuse eingebaut und dann beispielsweise als externe USB-Festplatte genutzt werden. Toshiba setzt bei der Festplatte auf die Fluid-Dynamic-Bearing-(FDB)-Motor-Technologie. Ebenfalls unterstützt die Festplatte die S.M.A.R.T.-Technologie. Die maximale Betriebstemperatur der Toshiba HDD liegt zwischen 5 Grad Celsius und 55 Grad Celsius. Die Festplatte wurde für Windows Vista zertifiziert. Auf das Dateiformat FAT32 formatiert, kann sie aber auch in Apple-Computer verwendet werden.
