A surreal atmosphere and dream-like lighting mark the Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection as each action-adventure game takes players through fantastic locations in their quests. In Ico, players take control of a young boy with horns as he tries to escape a castle with a young girl he finds and protects her from an unknown attacker. The second game of the Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection takes players back to before the events of Ico, as a young man rides into a distant, forbidden land with the body of a young woman. Bartering with the forces of the land, the young man agrees to undertake the seemingly impossible quest to slay the giant creatures roaming it to bring the young woman back to life. Each action-adventure game provides players with solid gameplay and innovative storytelling that allows the players to build their own ideas of what is going on. The visuals and storytelling of each game garnered critical acclaim at their release and the games of the Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection are often considered to be artistic without being abstract. This Sony PlayStation 3 video game is suitable for both new and old players seeking to experience the work of Team Ico.
