However much we like Alice Walker's fictional characters, it's still a treat when she speaks in her own voice, whether in essays or poems. The poems in this work show the impressive range that voice has, from the outrage of "First, They Said," to the quiet and lovely "These Mornings of Rain," to poems about family. Walker makes a lyrical world big enough to seamlessly weave these disparate parts together.

Thank goodness nothing hit or cut the wrapping in shipping. I would suggest boxing booms next time, it would be so worth the extra shipping costto us book collectors. On top of that, the condition of the book seemed more better than it given, so that was a plus for me. I appreciated the offer that the seller gave to me since I was interested in this book, and I was happy to take their offer. The book was nicely but tightly wrapped, and I got a bit nervous trying to remove the tight plastic wrap, but luckily it came off easy, and the book was still in good shape. And taking a little extra time to pre-wrap the naked book in clingwrap was greatly appreciated when the package got wet before it arrived; but the book was fine! This buyer also heartily approves of sellers who are willing haggle over price.
