NotesFor more than three decades, Chris Brashear has been a sought-after performer and versatile sideman, singing and playing fiddle, mandolin, guitar, banjo and bass. Since his co-founding in 1988 of the bluegrass band, Kentucky Rose, Chris has also earned a well deserved reputation as a creative and visceral songwriter. He has traveled, lived, performed and recorded all over the United States and in Europe. His first solo recording, Wanderlust, set a high standard: "Wanderlust is one of the best bluegrass recordings I have heard in years, which is something I do not say lightly. From the first song, Mason's Lament, which is already a modern classic, Brashear offers up crystal perfect original gems such as Lost Soldier Son and Wanderlust, which could become classics in their own right." -Steve Goldfield, Fiddler Magazine Chris has two recordings with duet partner Peter McLaughlin, Canyoneers and So Long Arizona. He is also a co-founder of the bluegrass band Perfect Strangers. Their self-titled recording was released on Rebel Records.
