As a young teenager growing up on the streets, Dre follows in the path of many brothers before him and takes the step necessary to join a violent gang. However, his gang initiation goes terribly wrong and an innocent man ends up dead. Recognizing the error of his ways, Dre attempts to put away his gun and stay away from crime. He even goes so far as to become friends with the murdered man's family. However, although Dre is intent on maintaining a new, morally upstanding life, the gang he left behind is not so happy with the decision.
