To enter a new route, use the manual buttons to add your location, waypoints, and end destination. The unit automatically calculates your location and route and gives you directions as you go, and it offers sound notifications for upcoming turns and arrivals. If you end up going off course, an alarm will sound help you get back on track. Technical features of the Garmin GPS Automotive mountable include a fishing calculator, waypoint icons, and a trip calculator. Use the trip calculator features of maximum speed, track log, and trip timers to keep track of your journey. The Garmin GPS comes with software including city navigation maps, Europe maps, marine cartography, Middle East maps, North America maps, South Africa maps, and South America maps. The Garmin GPS V mountable takes four AA batteries and has a battery life of 25 hours, keeping you going even on long trips. The Garmin GPS V has a high-impact, plastic alloy body and an IPX7 waterproof standard making it suitable for withstanding splashes, rain, or snow, and incidental exposure to water of up to 1 meter for up to 30 minutes. Additional accessories that can be purchased to increase the functionality of the Garmin GPS include a detachable antenna and power/data plug with auto DC and AC power cord. Other accessories allow you to select a variety of different mounts, cases, and covers, as well as lanyards and clips for personal carry. The Garmin GPS V comes with a user guide and product manual where you can find detailed information on all of the devices capabilities.     The item was exactly as described by the seller. Shipping was on time and a tracking number was provided immediately after placing the order. The item was well protected, they placed the figure inside a small box with bubble wrap and then placed that box inside a slightly larger box and filled that with packing paper for extra protection. While the price was a bit high, I am satisfied with my purchase and would shop from this seller again.
