Contacted the seller who responded very quickly with recommendation to connect directly to SATA connection, which worked perfectly. The drive shows over 5 years of power on time, which is expected.

Also to note, you can't beat the 2 year in house warranty.

Hard disks were exactly as described in great condition and had 0 power on hours. Power adapter for disks were included as well. These disks caught me by surprise as they are very silent. I did a full surface scan on all the drives and, while one ended up having a bad sector, the seller was very responsive and handled the RMA, sending me a replacement that scanned good.
