The first step in the game is to create a Sim, and players can customise a character to simulate themselves if preferred. The game features story progression, which happens automatically as time passes during gameplay. Examples include a character growing up, getting a job, getting married, and other life events. Players will also need to learn how to teach the Sim character certain vital skills in order to progress further in The Sims 3 Generations. In this life simulation game, the skill levels need to be unlocked, as they are not visible in the Sim panel until that happens. In addition, several career paths are available for the Sim character, such as a police officer, a culinary professional, a business professional, and a medical professional. The mood of the character will affect their overall job performance as well. This PC video game also includes chance cards, a random twist that can cause a Sim character to lose a job. Overall, The Sims 3 Generations provides users the opportunity to experience real-life situations in a virtual world to gain a little insight as to what adult life can be like.
