I had to expand the size of the power jack to make that happen, thus the hack job. Does your GBS8200 have the two power pins (JST socket) near the barrel power jack? That's what I used to use to power the GGLabs CGA2RGB when I sold those. It's an output. The GBS8200 can take up to a 12V power supply, so as long as you used a 5V supply, it would work (I used 5V2A). I think that JST plug just dumps whatever it gets from the barrel jack.
