The Western Digital Caviar Green Internal Hard Disk Drives can offer 1.5 terabytes of storage at disk speeds of 7200 revolutions per minute. This internal hard drive can fit snugly on 3.5 inch bays and can connect via a 3 gigabits per second 7 pin serial advanced technology attachment connector that comes with the package. It has a 32 megabyte cache (or buffer) size and its rotational speed is regulated. It has a feature that can give the drive a data transfer performance of 3 gigabits per second buffer to host and a 100 megabits per second host to/from drive. Western Digital Caviar Green hard drives are capable of approximately 300,000 load and unload cycles for their entire service year. They are compatible with both Mac and Windows operating systems.This reliable WD15EADS Western Digital Internal Drive features reduced power consumption by up to 40%. This is because of its advanced IntelliPower, IntelliSeek, and NoTouch advanced technologies. IntelliPower is a fine tuned balance of transfer rate, spin speed, and caching algorithms. It is designed to deliver solid performance as well as significant power savings. IntelliSeek can calculate the optimum seek speeds in order to lower energy consumption, vibration, and noise. Its NoTouch ramp load technology can ensure that the recording head never touches the media. This can mean a lot less wear is incurred to the recording head and media. This Green Hard Drive can also deliver better drive protection during transit. It has a SATA 3Gb/s Interface and a seven pin Serial ATA Connector Type. It also has a serial ATA-300 Storage Interface.
