Keeping many browser tabs open when running memory-intense software, such as photo editing programs, is possible with this Xeon processor.Execute Disable Bit technology recognizes and eliminates information errors before they slow down your network and servers. Its security features protect your computer from viruses and malware. Harmful software will be checked before it can execute and spread across your servers or network. The Xeon X5460 3.16 GHz Quad Core CPU is fully compatible with Intel VT-x virtualization technology. It can support virtual machines on a computer while protecting the integrity of the host operating system code. Tweaking and testing different settings on various operating systems can be done safely without altering your original specifications. The Xeon CPU includes VT-x with Extended Page Tables, letting you accelerate performance for virtual applications with high memory demand.The Intel Xeon X5460 3.16 GHzCPU incorporates advanced designs to maximize energy efficiency. Intel Demand Based Switching technology keeps the processor's clock speed and voltage at minimum levels until more memory is needed. Enhanced Intel SpeedStep regulates voltage of the processors between high and low levels to meet changing needs on the fly. Thermal Monitoring Technologies constantly detect the temperature of the cores and regulate heat to keep the unit from failing. Greater power consumption means higher core temperatures, so these features work to reduce the amount of energy needed.
