he Western Digital My Passport Ultra Black External Hard Drive (WDBMWV0020BBK-NESN) has a capacity of 2TB. It lets you take your entire digital library with you wherever you go. Weighing just eight ounces, this 2.5-inch WD external hard drive is small enough to carry around in your pocket. The portable external hard drive supports both Windows PCs and Mac computers. Its USB 3.0 interface enables fast data transfers and is compatible with USB 2.0 ports, too. You can set the device to back up your files easily. In addition to local backups, the drive also offers cloud backups to the customer. The cloud ensures that files are safe even if you lose the hard drive.The portable Western Digital My Passport Ultra Black External Hard Drive is compatible with Windows XP and Windows Vista. Windows 7 and Windows 8 are also compatible. This product is compatible with Windows 8 File History, making backups a breeze. The WD Windows 8 app enables digital media like video on the HDD to be automatically recognized, displayed, and organized. For Macintosh users, the hard drive is compatible with Mac OS X Leopard, Snow Leopard, Lion, and Mountain Lion. Due to its USB 3.0 functionality, this HDD may also be used to expand the storage capacity of your Xbox One gaming console. By default, the drive is formatted as one NTFS partition for compatibility with Windows operating systems. If you wish to use the drive with a Macintosh operating system, it will need to be reformatted to a single HFS+J partition. This reformatting can be easily done using the Disk Utility available on most Mac operating systems. This 2TB Passport model features local and cloud backup using WD SmartWare Pro automatic backup software. WD SmartWare uses minimal system resources while working quietly in the background to protect your data through automatic and continuous backups. This software allows you to schedule backups of your files to run only at specifically scheduled times. The software allows for either file or folder backups. The included WD Security utility lets you set a password to access your files. Hardware encryption can also be set up to provide additional protection from unauthorized access to your device. WD Drive Utilities enable you to register your HDD online, run diagnostics on the device, and set timers for various HDD activities. Cloud backup is provided using Dropbox and requires a Dropbox account.The highly portable Passport Ultra weighs only 0.23 kg or roughly half a pound. It has a height of 20.9mm, depth of 110.5mm, and width of 82.0mm. Drives of this type are built for enhanced durability, shock tolerance, and long-term reliability. The capacity is 2TB, and the maximum Serial Bus Transfer Rate over USB 3.0 is 5 Gb/s. No separate power supply is needed because the device is powered by the USB connection. It is available in a wide variety of colors, including black, blue, red, white, and titanium. You'll get a great mobile upgrade to your device's storage capacity that provides good security and backup features.
