In my case it was a 100% one-man operation, and it was easy. The whole process from start to finish was 30 minutes max. it's great to have the strut hidden away behind the right-side taillight also. There are tailgate assist struts located on the left rear side that are exposed but that seemed pretty cheesy to me so I opted for oem. I had to go buy a torx T-50 but otherwise eazy-peazy.
