Reached out to seller, who reached out to Dell, who sent documentation explaining how SMART doesn't work correctly on these drives. I rely on SMART data to monitor drive health, so these are a no-go. Seller kindly accepted a return in exchange for a full refund. I appreciate seller's openness and would be willing to try buying from them again.
