This unit can control up to 18 electronic devices ranging from home automation devices and external speakers to gaming consoles and more. For each device, you can add up to 85 functions just on the physical buttons alone. The learning functionality also includes eight pages of six functions on the actual screen. This will give you complete control over your home. Even though there is a setup process involved, you will love getting to take control of all of your electronics. Command video, audio, and home automation technology without having to keep track of separate remote controls. Featuring a special support package that contains three main pages of information, the universal MX-450 is able to upgrade its software as time goes on. This means that it automatically stays abreast of new device codes. You do not have to keep upgrading your universal remote to keep up to date with new technology. If you want to control audio and video electronics and consoles that are located in other rooms, pair this universal remote control up with a URC RF Base unit. You can have access to your home theater, gaming console, and HDTV even when you are in another room. Even better, URC does offer an Archiver program that lets you back up your MX-450 remote's data. All you need is a USB cable, and you are good to go. It can run on either Narrow Bandwidth RF or IR, and it's very easy to program. It uses four AA batteries that are easy to replace. You can expect up to four months of heavy use before having to change to fresh batteries.
