It didn't affect operation at all, but had a small whine until the glue cured it. Very pleased with its operation. Used to provide a 24V supply for a loud alarm bell.

Reasonable price, I love these lamps made from recycled water pipes. The picture shows the inside of the cone shade as red, it is actually black, but this is not a problem.
