I was able to fix the internal broken parts with this kit to avoid having to re-key the car! The plunger and the piece that slides over the spring do NOT match this lock, but the internal parts that typically brake do fit this lock. I'm very pleased with the results!

It’ll get your door working but the parts are super light and will brake again especially if you’re constantly unlocking your e46 manually instead of using your key fob. Its definitely worth 6.99, but don’t expect it to last as long as the original bmw part.
