There is no way the typewriter could shift in shipping. The typewriter I received was what was described. Needs a good cleaning and oiled. Put some paper in , the old ribbon still prints. I believe with a little elbow grease and she will be typing again. I did a little research and found out the #4 is a 1907. This is a seller I would buy from again.
