TrackMania DS lets handheld gamers with a thirst for extreme racing get their first opportunity to try out Nadeo's popular PC franchise, known for its emphasis on stunts and user-created tracks. Developed for the DS by Firebrand Games (Race Driver: Create & Race), TrackMania DS offers gamers more than 100 official tracks, each filled with ramps, jumps, and loops. Players can speed through races in three different types of vehicle, taking advantage of the game's "Coppers" reward system to unlock new tracks, paint schemes, and parts for use in course design.<br><br>Creative gamers can build custom racetracks using more than 150 design blocks, including checkpoints, turbo boosts, and loop-the-loops. Proud designers can then share their creations with friends via a local wireless connection, while those looking for human competition can try wireless single- or multi-cartridge races for up to four, or take on a small army of acquaintances in the eight-player "Hotseat" mode.
